  • Carmel Beattie Support Coordinator

    Carmel Beattie

After a long career working in government and private business facilitating growth opportunities and advocating for people, groups, businesses and destinations, Carmel is excited to bring her experience and skills to the disability and aged care sectors. She wants all people to achieve their life goals and live their best lives in comfort and safety. Her main goal is to bring her energy, empathy and passion to ensure that happens.

Carmel joined the Dependable Care team because she recognised their compassion and commitment to shared goals and this past year has learned so much from her colleagues and participants.

As a Bay Islands local, she understands the joys and challenges of living in the region, having close ties to community groups, and loves developing teams of people working towards a common goal. Having lived and worked in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Pacifica, Carmel also has extensive experience connecting and working with people for whom English is a 2nd language and the special challenges they can face in Australia. Sometimes, you need someone with you who can help you understand the nuances of culture rather than just the language.

As you will have guessed, travel and culture are very much a part of Carmel’s life. She has also found peace and contentment on her lovely island home involving herself with great friends, the food and arts scene that continues to grow and of course, quality time swimming and spending time with her beloved dog, Rocco.
